Hair Loss Treatments that Work
Hair Loss Can Be Treated
On this page we'll talk about what works against hair loss and what your real options are.
Read more on Minoxidil or Rogaine, Propecia or Finasteride (do they work and how to maximize their benefits against your hair loss) on this page
If you have hair problems, such as hair loss, you are probably (and rightfully) considering whether you could go to an excellent dermatologist. I would certainly recommend it because an excellent dermatologist can truly help you against hair loss; these days there are many good ways to treat it, for men and women.
You may also be considering whether to try alternative (or natural) treatments. Most alternative treatment are not in contrast with the best of traditional treatments (unless those are hormonal treatments) so by all means try both. Amongst alternative methods one of the most effective is, by far, homeopathy; it has not side-effects and it is completely harmless to your body. Homeopathy has certainly proven to be the most effective alternative method for all the affected members of my family. We were perhaps very lucky to have found a truly excellent homeopath. From our personal experience we have decided to do more research and ask those who have experienced successful alternative treatments against hair loss.
Before starting with an explanation on how homeopathy can treat your hair loss, we should say a few words about what’s mostly in use amongst conventional medicine. Minoxidil is still one of the best traditional medicine treatments, especially if 5% and, if you are a woman, accompanied by topical progesterone and, if you are a man, together with other treatments (see later). Amongst side-effects you may experience the appearance of hair (or more hair) on other parts of your body, which may be highly undesirable!
Propecia (or Finasteride) is still, amongst traditional medicine, one of the most used and relatively effective treatment, especially if your hair loss is genetic (male-pattern hair loss, which women may also suffer from), where dehydrotestosterone (DHT). Propecia or Finasteride are not usually prescribed to women, though, especially if they are of child-bearing age.

Homeopathy works on many levels and we recommend it, especially with the help and guidance of an excellent homeopath, especially if he/she is a Practical Homeopath (rather than merely a Classical Homeopath). Always check your homeopath’s credentials and where he/she claims he/she has studied.
A homeopathic treatment for hair loss
oten consists of specific remedies (this page will be completed in the coming weeks). Graphite, Lycopodium, Calcarea Carbonica are often useful against hair loss, both for men or women. Moreover, for women Sepia, Folliculinum and sometimes Pituitary Gland (if your hair loss is endocrinally connected) can be extremely useful. I will try and extend the following in the coming weeks.
Lycopodium: particularly useful for those suffering from hair loss (men and women) if they hair started turning gray much earlier than expected, or for those who also suffer from eczema. This homeopathic remedy is also indicated for those who (besides suffering from hair loss) have low self-esteem or low self-confidence, or have low courage, or suffer from anger (obvious or repressed). Also useful for women if their hair loss followed childbirth. As already mentioned, it is always much better if you seek the help of a professional homeopathy, preferably qualified in Practical Homeopathy (rather than only in Classical Homeopathy). However, if you have extensive knowledge of homeopathy you could self-medicate (this is what our family did). Lycopodium is useful for hair loss in the following low doses: 6c twice a day for up to 4 weeks, checking for progress. Repeat later on if necessary (if hair loss re-occurs)
Sepia: particularly useful if your hair loss is connected to hormonal or endocrinal imbalances (even if hardly perceptible and in theory still within the ‘normal range’), such as during the menopause or pre-menopause, or if you suffer from too much prolactine in your system, or imbalances between oestrogen and progesterone (even if such imbalances are very small, because they are enough for your very susceptible hair!). Sepia is also useful if, besides hair loss, you also suffer from mood swings, irritability, indifference towards loved ones or sex. Sometimes the symptoms seem to improve through vigorous exercise (one hour at least); they worsen before your period (if you are a woman), during pregnancy or after childbirth or during the menopause. Common dosage is 6c twice a day, morning and evening, for up to 4 weeks, repeating in the future if necessary. Sepia is also useful if you are a woman (together with hair loss) you suffer from excessive body hair; it is often prescribed with Folliculinim: the first 14 days of your menstrual cycle: folliculinum 6c twice a day – the following 14 days: Sepia (30c once a day, but always check the explanation on homopeathic dosages). This homeopathic treatment is particularly useful for women suffering from hair loss, when their hair loss is hormonal/endocrinal.

It is very important to understand the complicated issue of dosages and potencies with regards to homeopathy. This is explained on the homeopathic dosages page.
I will add more homeopathic remedies in the coming weeks. You can always sign up for a newsletter/update on ourcontact page
